We want to enlarge the domain tc.item from STRING 16 to ideally STRING 30 characters. I heard a rumour saying that there is a patch that enables it in BaaN IVc4, but I can't find any reliable documentation.
Does anyone can tell me more about it? We don't own the source code, so it must be done via a patch...

Resolution
In order to alter the domain from 16 to 32 in Baan, you'll want to run session ttadv4107m000 (Modify Code Alignment).

Convert the change to runtime. Also, ALL USERS must be out of the system when this is done.

It is a very tedious exercise.You will also need to manually go in each report, form and increase the width of the field, as it will not automatically increase.
