Infor ERP LN upgrade from 10.3 to 10.8
Baan: Infor ERP 10.3 DB: SQL Server 2016 OS: Windows 2016 C/S: Server
I have been tasked with upgrading Infor ERP LN 10.3 instance to 10.8. My query is what are the steps to carry out the upgrade activity ? Since I have a lot of customizations, Is it possible to do an in-place upgrade i.e. upgrade Infor ERP LN 10.3 instance to 10.8 on the same physical server with a downtime of not more than 24 hours?

I'm not sure that's a question that can be answered in this format.
There are some pretty big functional and table changes between those versions, especially if you're looking at site functionality. I would expect that a lot of your customizations will need to be revisited.
In-place should be possible with the data upgrade engine, although I've not done from 10.3 to 10.8. I have done FP5 to 10.4 and 10.4 to 10.7 with minimal problems.
There are too many variables to blanketly say whether it could be done in 24 hours. I believe we did a > 1TB environment in less than 36 hours.
For transparency, I am a consultant, but feel free to reach out if you'd like to discuss us helping you with this process.
Thanks!

Just record how many hours it will take for Data Upgrade Engine from 10.3 to 10.8 using your production data into your test environment for all your companies, to define if 24 hours will be enough.
Cheers

I am originally Baan IVc4 developer and new to LN 10.3 and admin role as well. I am not aware of Data upgrade engine and what does it do. I intend to carry out the exercise with internal resources.

Data Upgrade Engine (DUE) are Infor routines to migrate/populate table fields when going from version a/b to version c/d. Say for example Infor delivers a new table which has some of the information that can be derived from existing tables, they would have routines to run to then populate/migrate data. Where the data lives might differ if starting point was FP5 or FP7 for example and going to FP9 either way. This is rough paraphrase.
