Baan: LN10.7 - DB: Many - OS: MSW
Text import using exchange
Baan: Infor ERP 10.6
DB: Other/Unknown
OS: Other/Unknown
C/S: None/Unknown

Am trying to import tppdm700.txta using exchange
i added all fields of 1st index and the text field in my input file as part of ASCII fields. And matching Teble Relations import. Text ASCII field is set to 'Multiline'

tppdm700.item is not part of 1st index. But when i do non-regular import, i get all records skipped with errror "Field tppdm700.item is out of range"
What could be wrong? Thanks for help

Hi Renegade,

we're currently in a migration process from Baan IV to Infor LN. My part is Baan IV, and I'm generating text files that can be imported into Infor LN using exchange. So here's an example how that file has to look:

821900608
{\{txta 3
This is the item text in language 3 (German).
}\}

Note the 9 blanks before the item number (project segment).

Hope that helps.

Regards Günther

That’s not my problem

That’s not my problem. In fact, as I see it, I don’t even need to have item in file.

Is it a part of any of the indexes that still have to be unique or requires a value?

My latest mantra - make sure you have latest stpapi patches and the latest session object. If on LN then please explore the option of using DAL2 functionality.

what I usually do is create a record manually and then export it using exchange to get a sample set of data. then use that as a template to create the new data

Good hint. It may well be that the item is used in the keywords of the text (see one of the tppdm700.txta fields in tttxt1100m000)...
